t It is that time of year again to sign up for Trail
Ambassador hours. It
is important that we carefully consider how many hours each of us will
contribute this year to the program. Please keep in mind there are some

"special events" that qualify as hours, also, but they will need prior
approval by the DNR before being awarded. Please make any "special"
suggestions on the form and the club will consider and submit these for
![]()
consideration by the DNR for you.
TA Submission Steps:
1. Print TA Proposed Trail Time Form below 2. Sign up for minimum of
four "starts" throughout the year per TA(May 1 through October 31st)
A" start" is deemed to be a minimum of a four hour shift (trail
time)
on a trail included in the Trail Ranking System.doc below 3. Please
divide your time as best as possible to obtain (See Trail Ranking
system.doc):
40% on A Class trails
30% on B Class Trails
30% on C Class Trails
The club is responsible to obtain this ratio with everyone's
hours.
It may not be possible to hit this ratio per TA- it is OK, but may need
further discussion at the club level to get there once everyone's forms
are received.
4. Submit TA proposed Trail Time Form to Grant Manager Tami Inman at
tinman@mncable.net NO LATER THAN 3/25/2011 (this
MUST be submitted by
the club to the DNR no later than April 1st)
Helpful notes:
Max allowable time per shift per TA is 10 hours (this includes the 1
hour Max each way per TA for road travel)
Allowed days are Friday, Saturday, Sunday and some Mondays- if it is
a
Holiday (this program goal is to be present when trails are in use
Peak Trail riding time is 11AM to 8 PM (no trail riding before
sunrise
or after sunset)
TA's are encouraged to contact other TA's from other clubs to
"cross-train" on other trail systems (expand your horizons)
This year's contract number will be different than last year's- we
will
post it
The Daily Log sheet changed this year to separate out road time from
trail time (again one hour max road time each way per TA)- we will
provide new ones
TA's must also perform one "youth training" per year to keep their TA
status- please indicate general availability for this on this form as
well.
